Hello, I'm Andrea of Sew-To-Fit, here I try and describe and explain the details as to Why Dress Fitting Starts with the Pattern Description and how it relates to our body, how it affect the length and hems in different styles we sew. I demonstrate on my body how to place the elastic on your body for proper analysis of fitting areas in relation to reviewing the pattern design against your body contours. Actual pattern descriptions are discussed and explained.
*Full explanation of the High waist, the midriff, the natural waist and the low waist/ high hip measurements.

YAY thank you thank you thank you so much!!!! i have watched many videos and this explained so much to me! my daughter is a little bigger for her age (and oh so CUTE), but we have a hard time finding clothes to fit her. i made her a dress before and it was perfect. it was a long time ago when i made it and it took a lot of drafting. anyways, this video really help me to understand what kind of waist is best. and not just for her, but for me as well. i like the high-waisted dresses and now i know how/WHERE to measure that :)

I am getting back to sewing my own clothes, and haven't sewn after my last baby was born. My size has changed with a 50 pound weightloss, and I did not know how to buy the right size. The first post weightloss dress I made was way too big. I hadn't discovered your videos yet. Thanks for posting these videos. They have been a great help. Can you help me with my question for fitting my clothes to my pattern bc I have not one ding dang clue what I'm doing. I just know I want to sew my pants and dress to fit me. My problem has been the adjustments. I am a BBW so the pattern I have goes up to 20W through 28W. The highest measurements for Bust are 50 inches I'm a 51 1/2? Waist are 44" I am a 56"? Hip is 52" I am 57"? Back neck to waist goes up to 17 3/4" I am a 23? My question is, how do I adjust the measurements to fit me correctly? Praying I purchased enough
