Fun fact: vishnu itself is a symbolisation of a ruler, the four symbols represents, the four attributes of a ruler.
✨Mace represents - authority (various military forces)
✨ Conch - communication ( media of any sorts that is used for spreading the news in the nation)
✨Chakra( disc)- usually called sudarshana chakra, where sudarshana means "the right view", chakra is the symbolisation of the righteous view a ruler should have. ( Rules and views of a nation)
✨Lotus- symbol of culture of a land.
Ever wondered why most ancient kingdoms in India had a vishnu temple as it's prime temple. ( Take shri Padmanabhaswamy temple for example)

Have you ever considered doing an "Aphrodite in the media vs Aphrodite in mythology" skit? Most media portrays Aphrodite as a kind, loving and caring figure, when in the actual myths she wasn't like that at all.

The multiple arms also symbolize that all-reaching power of the gods. Notice that the arms are spread out in different directions, it means that the deity will protect their devotees in all directions as they are present everywhere.

Think how afraid demons were when Durga came wielding weapons in her 10 hands, Hindu gods are literally the one man army.

The reason gods don't keep their symbols down because the symbols themselves represents different virtues. So upholding symbols = upholding virtues. So can't really keep them down as Hindu gods believe in leading by example and not by empty words.
Also them having multiple arms is a subtle way of them telling humans to be multitaskers in life.

Hey, I love it when you address my religion. The Hindu God's arms, along with their symbols, also represent their responsibility and power. it is a beautiful depiction that makes you understan what that god stands for

Sometimes they have a free right arm. It's because they want to bless their devotees

Also in case of many female goddesses they have multiple hands because they signify their ability to do all kinds of work... Like being a mother to humans, killing demons, ruling heavens etc etc
