As Murdoc pulls out a syringe because he is deeply afraid of being abandoned by the only people in his life, while his only way to express that is through paranoia and abuse, falling into the same behavior that has hurt 2D over and over again. Like it’s really powerful as a low point for the arc.

Also noticed that when Noodle catches up to 2D and Murdoc, it looks like she's saying 2D's name, like she's trying to warn him.

Murdoc _is_ terrified of being alone, guys. He acts like he likes being an island, but he's really his own worst enemy. He needs the band – they're the closest thing to a family he's ever known, but he's scared of love. He can't apologize because nobody ever apologized to him for all the abuse he faced growing up. 2-D is still my favourite, but Murdoc is a beautifully-written and nuanced character all wrapped in a green gremlin package.

Aries is a street name for heroin, Noodle claims that she’s worried about 2D, 2D’s lines get more depressing as the song goes along, 2D continuously repeats the line ‘it feels like i’m falling in again’, his character description in old interviews stated that he was addicted to certain types of drugs. 2D appears happier when Murdoc is in jail, skating around and enjoying himself. Murdoc returns seeing that 2D is finally happy and recovered. Murdoc pulls out a syringe.
