The House Committee just helped Trump to fulfill his promise to release his tax returns to the public. Trump should thank them instead of threatening them.

Regardless of whether there is anything particularly scandalous or national-security-risky in his records, the importance of releasing them is to emphasise the message:
if you run for the highest office in the country you WILL disclose your financial dealings and any possible liabilities you pose (via compromising debts or involvememts with foreign adversaries).
