The world would not be worse off if Twitter just disappeared.

"I've sacked more than half your workmates so now I want everyone that's left to work twice as hard to cover that loss . . . . Ok so who's with me ?"

Life existed and will exist after twitter. We have bigger problems in this world.

I'm not on Twitter. I am sitting on the sideline with a big bowl of popcorn and enjoying the show.

Never used Twitter myself. Just aware that it's a big company and that people use the platform to voice their views and reach out to a wider audience. As with any new management they'll always be changes and these changes will not always be for the better good of the people. Just feel for those who have lost their jobs and livelihoods. Know from personal experience that many of us live beyond our means so losing your livelihood can be a pretty stressful time for anyone.

Twitter shutting down is NOT an existential threat. If it shuts down, another social media platform will take its place (which is not necessarily a good thing).

A poor man with integrity is better than a WORTHLESS BILLIONAIRE consumed by the power of money

There are some people who 'work hard' with their heart because they have fun in it, or they really want to contribute to the company.
But that never happens when you're forced to do it.

The only shocking thing is that Twitter took this long to collapse.

Elon: people don't care about your company as much as you. Trust and respect is earned, respect your employees and they will work harder for you.

If you enter a room full of people at a party and everyone looks at you and suddenly scrambles for the exit, then this should tell you something.
What Musk apparently reads from this is "Great, I did not need those people, they are losers anyway - this is my room now and I can party however I like".
Except that those leaving took all the furniture, the buffet, the music box and the bar with them.
