How Long Can You Leave a Kitten Alone : What You Need to Know,Cats are known for being low maintenance and are often considered the perfect pet for those with busy schedules. But perhaps those who wish to adopt a kitten need to think twice before getting an animal so young and leaving it alone for extended periods of time.

Can I leave my kitten alone for 8 hours? It depends on how old your kitten is. Kittens under 4 months of age can be left alone for up to 4 hours. A kitten 4 to 5 months old can be left alone for up to 5 hours. A 6-month-old kitten can be left alone for up to 8 hours. So if your kitten is less than 6 months old, do not leave it alone for 8 hours.

I have a 5-month-old kitten that got out (I had brought her home from a Home Depot) and was missing for a few days. I finally saw her eating food that I've been leaving out.... in the company of a few raccoons. Couldn't believe it.
Now she's an indoor/outdoor cat who hangs out with raccoons.

I work long hours night shift from 7-7. I have about 3 days off during the weekend and i hope that’ll give my kitten enough time for me to bond with them

I think my sister got herself a cat for own selfish reasons....she shuts it in the room for hours when she gets tired of it...even when there are other people around the house....it's like she wants to control him, she doesn't want the kitten having connection with anyone but herself or her father(who only shows interest in the kitten when my sister is around)...I love the kitten but thinking of reporting to animal welfare

i just have a cinnamon BSH kitten (8weeks) from day 1 she’s close, comfy and happy. i let her fall asleep on my chest against my neck around 24:00 oclock in the livingroom on the couch. then very gently i tilt her en lay her on a soft blanket (she keeps sleeping) and i go to my own room and sleep. now for the 5the time a row, the morning i walk in the living room shes on the same spot waking up an walks to me. No crying at night, No energy burst at night just all relax and chill. i love her.

I work a lot but I do have both a young adult cat and a four week old kitten. I come by in the afternoon to check on my kitten feed/ play as I work delivery apps..once I get a new job, I’m hoping to work less 😊 but I’m sure by that time my kitten will be growing more

Hello! I’m getting a kitten that turns two months old in very early September which is when I start school again. I’m getting a calico that’s most likely female even though my parent prefers if the cat was a male. I’ve been doing research on cats and have asked my friends that are pet owners (specially cat owners) how they take care of their pets and what they do to fulfill the basic needs. My friend has too many kittens (12 in total) and is going to sell the second batch of kittens that were born. My friend offered me to give me one for free. I asked for permission and my parent said I could have it but would need to be very responsible for it. I’ve wanted a cat since I was younger and this is probably the only chance I’ll have as to getting one. I’m going to take care of the kitten and give all that it needs but I’m afraid of leaving it alone. Since I start school in September and that’s when I’ll be getting the cat, is it safe to leave it alone for 6-7 hours a day every weekday? My family will be working and I’m always the first to arrive home so it will basically be alone. It’s been on the back of my mind and has been making me very stressed and worried. I leave the house around 5:30-7:00am, start my classes around 8 am and come back home around 1:30-2pm. Is it safe to leave a two month old kitten alone in that period of time?

This too much. Have a lot of toys for them, keep them busy. And when you're home shower them with love and attention. If you plan or going out of town more than 2 days have a sitter

Good thing I work from home. I get to see my little kitty baby every day all day😄 except when running errands, or I'll just bring it with me. I don't like leaving them alone anyway.

We just got a cat and the first night she was sleeping in my sisters room but my sister couldn’t sleep at all because of the cat so last night as it got late and we all needed to go to sleep we fed our cat and put her in the living room with water, a bed, toys and a little light so she can see then we closed the door and she was there from about 10pm to between 6 and 8am. Is that okay or not? I kinda got mood swings because of all of this and it kinda messes with me.

Does bringing your kitten to work with you make sense if you don't have anyone to check up on them ? If so how long before he can be left alone while at work ?

Im a college student and i live in my house only not any hostel or anything but the thing is my college is like 7am to 3pm and my mom goes to office at 10:30am to 7:30 but i’ll be home till 3:30 so is it okay to leave her alone for like 10:30-3:30 ? In between she wont be alone for 1 hour 12:00-1:00 because that time our house helper comes and cleans the house so maybe she’ll be with them. So is it okay to leave her for that much time ?
