Part of what made this era of DX so fun was their rivalry with the Nation. Hunter vs Owen or the Rock. X-Pac vs D-Lo. The New Age Outlaws vs any combo of Nation members. For about six months of '98, these two groups were featured on every show and everyone had their favorites.

This was a good pivot for DX. The implication of the original version is they were trying to get fired so they could go join the nWo. Here, they add disgruntled wrestlers and their mission statement changes to one of war against everybody in every company.
