Back in the day where movies were made, the reason why these old movies are weird but old is because they didn’t have much of technology but today, we have developed technology of films

It honestly sounds like fun, not knowing what it'll be and you can get up and switch to something else. They also played cartoons on certain days.

My grandmother told me she watched mikey mouse in the theatre when she was a small child

I heard that back in the day if a movie was longer than a certain amount of time they would actually pause the movie halfway through and you could go get up and get popcorn or whatever. They called it an intermission.

My grandfather would tell me that going into a theatre when he was a kid was just buying a ticket, walking inside and sitting down. The movie would be in several reels because the projector they had at the theatre where he grew up was too small to hold a full movie. So in between the guys trying to find the next reel, they would have a short clip of a TV show playing. Before they had TVs, people would show up tho theatres just to see those short clips of TV shows. If you had to use the bathroom at the wrong time or couldn’t go to the theatre, you missed part of the TV show.

My grandma would tell me about how this is how her and her family would go to the movies and there would be all sorts of different things to watch and you would just kind of stay there for as long as you wanted

On the cinema where I go, we can do the same thing. There aren't guards at every door, you just need to exit the same way you came in (otherwise you'll end up outside) and pick a different room.
