There's a great book by Erich Kahler called Man the Measure where he takes the psychoanalytical approach explaining how brutal the Prussian military and fathers were, so the soldiers and children really hated any father figures and Jews were stereotyped as partriarchs whereas Hitler was depicted as a sort of big brother. At least I think that's where I read that theory, it's been decades, please correct me if I'm wrong.
