Hi, welcome to ShuoshuoChinese 说说中文; my name is Shuo, I’m a native Chinese teacher living in Bangkok, Thailand, I’ve been teaching Chinese as a foreign language for seven years and I’m also a language learner.
In this channel, I will upload a weekly video, in which I talk about Chinese vocabulary, Chinese grammar, Chinese culture, Chinese stories with pinyin and the English translation for listening practice.
With my channel, you can easily start to learn and understand complicated Chinese grammar, sentence structure, and differences/nuances between similar Chinese words.
If you are a Chinese beginner, I’m planning to upload videos about what Chinese language is, how it differs from English, Chinese pronunciations, Chinese characters and Chinese stroke sequences and a mini Chinese course, (10 minutes per day), which can help you learn quickly and easily. Don’t miss it!

So, subscribe to my channel and start your Chinese learning journey!

When my mom is on the phone with relatives she sounds exactly like 0:36, they say goodbye for over 10 minutes... "Bye bye, uh-huh, mm-hmm" and then 10 mins later "bye bye" lol

Textbook: Hello, how are you?
In real life: Eat more, you're so thin!

But the texbook examples are used when you talk to strangers, that's what my Chinese teacher said (she is Chinese BTW)

Also the fact that real life Chinese is 1000x the speed of textbook chinese/chinese spoken in lessons

(almost) every language in the world has it's unique slang, which is the cherry on top to the struggle of learning foreign languages.

If y’all are online a lot, I suggest trying to make some online Chinese friends when learning Chinese. They can teach you things the textbook can’t.

I have to say that in my experience saying goodbye on a phone to a Chinese person takes an amazing amount of time, just like 说老师says: and repeat for 30 seconds!) ;-)

Damn you nailed this one. I’m learning textbook Chinese, but conversational Chinese is throwing me into a loop. I’m so confused when I speak….

Glad to know that many Chinese also have their version of a 'midwestern goodbye', which lasts at least 5 minutes after the real conversation is over. 😂 Makes me feel like we're all not so different, even on the other side of the world!

The key to learn any language are same. Only memorise the important vocabularies such as time, numbers, etc.
Doesn't need grammar, or polite phrases.
Then, practice it in real life with native speaker, both written or spoken. And learn the culture and mindset of native speaker as well.

As a foreigner living in China, I see this everyday and her derision is outstanding. 😂

As someone who’s taking Mandarin for their first year of highschool, this was really helpful to know lol

The accuracy is hilarious because it's so true lol. I've lived in China and Taiwan all I heard was the second conversation.
