Franz Peter Cibulka (born December 23, 1946 in Fohnsdorf ; † June 27, 2016) was an Austrian composer and musician.

Franz Cibulka studied clarinet, composition and orchestral conducting at the Graz University of Music and Performing Arts. He graduated in 1984. Until July 2002 he taught as a professor for clarinet, chamber music and music theory at the Johann Joseph Fux Conservatory in Graz.

His international breakthrough was achieved through performances of his works as part of the WASBE-1997 ( World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles ) in Schladming. In recent years he has worked in Australia, America, Russia and many European countries as a composer, conductor, interpreter, juror and speaker.

From 2000 to 2001 Cibulka was a lecturer in composition at the Bavarian Academy. After he returned from his subsequent, third concert tour of Russia, he worked from 2002 until his death in 2016 as a freelance composer.

His catalog raisonné includes more than 300 compositions in a wide variety of styles and scoring. The works were mostly created at the request and suggestion of the interpreters and with consideration for their ideas.

I, in no way, mean to make any money via my videos. I make them to allow others to discover classical music, and help them by (sometimes) providing sheet music.
