Logitech MX Mechanical Mini: An Experience I DID NOT Expect!

Logitech MX Mechanical Mini Review — This review turned out to be quite an adventure! I wanted to try out the MX Mechanical Mini, as soon as it was announced. I’ve been using the Logitech MX Keys Mini as my daily keyboard, and was previously using the Keychron K2 before that, so a low profile mechanical keyboard like this that combines the small form factor of the MX Keys with mechanical keys was something I was really excited about. My experienced turned out to be a bit of a rollercoaster though… Watch for more.

Double labeling of Win/Mac keys is because of possibility to switch between multiple devices on a fly, including PC and Mac. You won't replace caps every time you're switching to a different system

One of the main reasons that I am a Logitech fanboy is their customer service. For the few times that I have needed to interact with them because of broken devices, I have always had nothing but good interactions and smooth solutions to problems in a very pro-consumer manner.

I had an issue (squeaky keyboard) on my first MX Mechanical (fullsize). I called Logitech support and they advised me to return it to BestBuy for a replacement (where I bought it) as they had more in stock. BB replaced it without issue and the 2nd keyboard has been perfect. Enjoying it and the battery life is really good.

Tested a bunch of keyboards recently and this one won my review hands down. Better feel. Loud, but not insane. Great battery (should be the standard). And it looks elegant (read: a keyboard for adults).

Price: all decent keyboards are way overpriced. Annoying.

I also started with a slighly faulty MX Mechanical Mini, randomly losing some M key presses. I sent it back and now waiting to pick up the second one.
I'm new to mechanical keyboards, I like Logitech products, but I would probably prefer a TKL layout over 75% one. I've just made up my mind that full size is too wide, so maybe 75% will be good in the end. I like the feel and sound of brown switches.

I would be nice if you could tweet to them about the (lack off) possibilty of leaving on backlight on regardless of the ambient brightness, its such a simple feature that this thing lacks :(

I bought the MX Master 3S a while back and I had to get it replaced by doing a chat with their support team. They went through some quick troubleshooting steps to see if they could fix it, then they simply sent me a new mouse without me having to even send the old one in. It was super fast and honestly one of the best experiences I have ever had with customer support from any company.

Having used a G502 mouse for seven years, with only slight degredation of the click feel on one button, I decided to get a Logitech keyboard, got the full-size MX Mechanical (linear). It has been flawless since I got it, and was even super easy to clean when I spilled my drink on it. Just water from the tap, wipe it off, done.
First time I spill a drink on a keyboard in half a decade and it's the first month after buying it. . . -___-

Logitech makes good stuff and I've never had to use their support.

I ended up going with the Logitech board over Keychron just because the battery life supposedly lasts longer. Keychron: 35 hours, Logitech: 15 days, (120 hours assuming they mean 8 hour work days.)

Just a note about Logitech Customer Support. I've been a big fan of the MX series, both keyboards and the mice. I've had 2 of the mice replaced because of some type of failure or slow degradation of some function on the mouse itself. To be honest, these failures were simply due to age and use. In ever case, Logitech has been awesome with their support and have always replaced the device, hardly any push back what so ever. They always ship the device out quickly and I'm back up and running at 100% in a couple days. Nothing bad here to say about their customer support.

Many want the white version, for windows!
They could have made it so much smarter and sell more.. just give everybody the option of dark/white, and just include a few mac/windows keys

I had issue with my mx keys mini. The battery died and wont recharge. I made a post on reddit, and from there Logitech tech support suggested me some solutions, that didn't worked. After that they sent a new keyboard from US to Brazil, where i live. Best costumer service i ever had.

Excellent video, mate! I bought the clicky version from Dell about a week ago. They're running a $40 off coupon for this model (doesn't apply to the linear or tactile). I used to be something of a Keychron fanboy, but their battery life is wretched and Bluetooth sux for Windows. I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoy using my new MX Mech Mini. All your observations/comments are right on target. Reassuring to know Logitech's customer service lives up to its reputation.

I use a MX Key's mini for my daily work, the only thing I don't like about my Apple spec one is the white colour. It's pretty rock solid, I use it without backlight in the day and the battery life is decent. It's also really nice to type on. My Gaming Keyboard is a Razer Black Widow Mini.

I might wait till this keyboard drops in price or becomes available 2nd hand

I'll get one of these soon just to see if it works for me.

The media keys are an issue, but I'll just have to work something out, as I do use macro keys for muting my input device when in a voice chat.

Other than that the mx mechanical mini with brown switches seems to get as near to a thinkpad keyboard as it could get, without the unchangeable fn/ctrl key misspositioning the lenovo compact keyboard has.

The pairing issue will be no problem for me, as I do not have a mac, and will use this mostly with linux.
