I remember the day my daughter told me I was her role model. I knew on that day I didn't have to worry about her following others or making a decision that doesn't serve her best interest. Couple that with the day she thanked me for paying the bills and keeping the lights on. I damn near cried. You have grown people that haven't thanked their parents for that. Light years ahead of her time.
