Rope Access Knots!
In the last video we learnt to tie the figure of eight on a bight or double figure of eight. If we want to tie our cowstails directly to out harness, the we need to make a rethreaded figure of eight, or a retraced figure of eight knot.

It is relatively strong, easy to recognise, does not undo by itself and is easy to untie after use. (when dressed and set properly)

Other knots we might use are:
-Retraced figure of eight
-Alpine butterfly
-Stopperknot
-Bunny knot
-Figure of nine knot
Those knots we will get into in upcoming video's

Correct me if I'm wrong but I just watched both your figure 8 videos and in the first one you specified that the load-bearing strand should be underneath the non-load-bearing strand in order to make the knot easier to untie. Taking a close look at the knots you tied it appears to me that the load bearing strand is on top. Am I mixed up? Or is it more difficult/not possible to tie the "perfect" figure 8 when doing a follow through/retraced version of the knot?

Asking because I use the figure 8 follow through for climbing and try to be attentive about dressing the knot well, but it still seems like sometimes it is easier to untie than others. I was hoping these videos would give me the technique I need to do it the best way every time. Can anyone help me out?? :)
