I feel like if your diet isn’t giving you the nutrients you need, you should just change your diet, not take a bunch of supplements.

I’m vegan and have been on and off for a few years, because when I first went vegan I was told I had iron deficiency anaemia. Then later I was becoming calcium deficient.
Years later and I have a bunch of pills, but I don’t take them everyday. I sometimes take B12. But got a blood test recently and it all came back fine. I think it depends a lot on what you eat, changing what you eat, listening to your body and really understanding what your doing.

Eating fermented food like ragi idli can help with V b12, morning sun with vit d ...I am vegan for more than 10 yrs now .i include all kind of pulses, cereals, whole grains, vegetables rainbow fruits ...I feel full and better, don't eat only chickpea it won't help alone....there are plenty of vegetarian food recipe where you can substitute milk or butter with plant based to live happily

Although not a vegan, i started eating less meat and started cooking more vegetarian or vegan recipes recently, but for the first time in my life, i found out i was iron deficient. I had frequent headaches, was shivering when not cold, was fatigued and had shortness of breath. Later i was given multivitamins and felt better but then once i was off the vitamins i started feeling that way again.

When I’m rich and everything is paid off, I have a sinking fund, and savings for every single thing I can think of, I’m going to hire a vegan chef for a month and learn as much as i Can from them. I vegan food so much! But I’m lazy and poor rn lol x

Thanks for being honest about this! A lot of us vegans keep saying it’s a magic cure-all. Nope - no dietary pattern is 100% magic and everything comes with a cost. Also our food environment is geared towards omnivores, so lots of stuff gets formulated with the assumption you’re also eating animal foods and may not fortify with enough of what’s needed for optimal health. With just a little bit of awareness we can all be thriving but some of y’all wanna act like “we just need leaves and beans and grains!” Y’all better relax.

i remember when i was talking to a friend who said they had to give up veganism because of a genetic disorder that makes it harder to cut out foods. it's important to remember that simply going vegan isn't healthy if you execute it poorly or if you have a medical condition. thank you for showing this!

This is why I prefer a balanced diet. Also, I love me some ribs! But good on you for growing your business. I still follow your channel for the delicious veggie recipes but skip out the tofu for chicken or beef. Thanks for making veggies tasty!

Coming from a biomed student: as a vegan, you should ALWAYS supplement B12, as there is no way to get it in with a plant based diet. There might be companies trying to sell you B12 from seaweed or smth but they are slightly altered in their biochemical structure, which makes them impossible for humans to absorb and process. So PLEASE, take your B12!!!

Try Ragi millet. You can find it in flour form in Indian stores. It's high in iron, fiber and protein. Really good for you. Combines well in smoothies.

You can get all those vitamins in the food you eat. If you're a vegan and youre nutrient deficient youre not eating correctly, I've been through this a couple times in my 12 years as a vegan, anytime im feeling low and deficient in something its because I've been eating crap and "lazy vegan food" as soon as i switch back to eating all the veggies and things i should be eating my blood work goes back to normal and I feel great. Ive never had to supliment in 12 years, i just have to be aware of what im eating and know what foods have the nutrients my body needs
