People might not have liked Desmond when he was alive, but he anchored the series incredibly well. I think the only way the franchise is going to find its full footing and bloom again is if we get a solid plot that links the past and the present (which Desmond's story did), and to have strong, dynamic, well rounded characters.

I think Syndicate proves this. Evie and Jacob are beautifully created imo. They're as different as night and day and play off of each other so well. I don't have a ps4 (it's too expensive for me right now), so I'm watching the walkthroughs on youtube. I can honestly say I haven't been so emotionally attached to characters in the franchise since Assassin's Creed 3, and I haven't been so emotionally invested in the ending and finding myself rolling in feelings since the ending of Assassin's Creed Revelations. I felt both with Syndicate.

When Desmond was still around, it made sense that eagle vision was occurring because it was HIS ancestors. And originally it was an ability within certain bloodlines, but now it seems that everyone in the universe has it and the people you play as in the games have managed to figure out how to use it. Just a silly excuse, to have this in every character. I would of much rather of had a more realistic approach in games when you don't play as his ancestors, and used something like eagle vision goggles. Just something which just feels more realistic, or maybe just replace it with somthing else cool, like strengthened bones and skin making you less impenetrable to enemy attacks, or something stealthy. I understand that eagle vision helps a lot but is this realistic if everyone has it?
