I just thought of the fact that "the doll people are alive" relates to people actually processing about all the horrible things that happen to women, while before brushing it off subconsiously, like knowing there is rotting food in a closet versus opening it and seeing the maggots. Don't know of this was intentional but it's an amazing song!

Something i noticed because i couldnt hear the singing as much in the beginning
Is it could be interpreted as being quiet because she has to, but when the music builds and crescendos its symbolic of her anger and rage growing from being held in.
Feminine rage, is not just rage, its a haunting thing growing within us all from everything we have experienced because we are women, knowing nothing will change, we have to exist and hope it doesn't happen again or when it does, we ensure we won't succumb and will be stronger to face it head on when it comes to fruition.

I wont lie, as a man who's always been small and fragile per say, having many women come to me regarding their stories of SA and various other problems, this song resonates on a much deeper level. Its like the world is evolving backwards, going back to seeing people as meat rather than the soul beneath. We are just perceived as the desires of other people, what they deem as theirs becomes what is theirs and that is a very very scary thought.

I’ve never seen a musician/song writer with this much raw talent. The lyrics are absolutely perfect. The melody and music is completely unique yet still catchy. And that performance…the breathing that makes it sound like someone (or something) is taking breaths for the first time…dear god!!! I’m in awe of this song. Plus her voice! The combination gives chills.
