I think it is a good plan. The population of 1% of income or wealth powers can either use money to effect outcomes to their favor or become the people who write the policies to really push a pro rich agenda.

It doesn't matter how they get into government office or the duration, as long as their policies get implemented. The backlash or consequences don't even matter too much, money buys lawyers, laws and influence, ; would never be tried or convicted for things like corruption or war crimes.
