UV Radiometers
Only a few UV meters have far-UVC / 222nm response
Calibration should be with sources having similar spectral distribution to d.u.t .
Poor cosine response is a significant cause of error
Out of band response may ‘see’ ambient lighting / daylight

Spectroradiometers
Best for far-UVC research and photobiological safety measurements
Array spectrometers require significant stray light rejection/correction
A filter is necessary with excimer Kr-Cl sources for photobiological safety

Integrating Spheres
Fluorescence caused by contaminants is a significant source of error for far-UVC measurements
Conditioning can minimise fluorescence in BaSO4 to a greater extent than in ptfe
On-going monitoring requires spectrometer with high stray light rejection
