Americans don't work more hours than Europeans because of our work ethic, they do it because of our starvation wages.

Usually the people telling you to work harder are the people holding the whip.

Work is liberating.. A nice german saying "Arbeit macht frei" which was hung above the gates of Auschwitz. Well done American conservatives *slow clap*

Americans live to work. Europeans work to live.

anyone find it weird that a guy with a thick British accent is telling us what "America is about"...

"I like to work"
Well yeah, if my work was just reading a text in front of a camera and getting paid tens of thousands of dollars a month to do it, I'm sure I'd like it too...
"A job for life, cause you can't fire them !"
Hahahahaha, what ?? Yeah, sure French people can't get fired... I'm French myself, so thanks for the news, Fox, I'll inform my boss right away.
Oh my god, it must take some serious imagination to come up with such bullshit and deliver it with a straight face.

He's sounds scripted, for a Brit he uses far too many Americanisms, even for someone who has lived there for a while. I suspect everything he says has been written for him by an American writer, for an American audience.

I dunno, he just sounds *off* to my British ears.

"lol look at silly Europe forbidding work emails after hours" Work emails are work. If my employer is sending me an email while I'm not on the clock, he either shouldn't send that email or he has to turn on the fucking clock and pay for WORKING.

Nothing like a foreigner telling us how he knows us better than we know ourselves.

Stuart Varney wouldn't know the definition of hard work if it hit him in the head.

Work is liberating?
I think he'd do really good in his job interview in some camp in Aushcwitz, Poland.

51/2 weeks off a year for vacations was the standard time off for the unionized company I worked for...lots of perks and flexibility as well. The French have it right.

i live in Australia. We have paid leave by law. And some companies give even more, than the minimum. In my company, I work the same amount of days, that I have off. in other words, for every day that I work, i have a day off work. Then I get 6 weeks paid leave, to go anywhere I want. Now this is not all beer and skittles. When i am working, i work 12 hour days and nights on shift work, but my company understands that they get more dedication and hard work out of their workforce, when people are rested and ready for work.

I was half expecting that guy to spout out about 'work will set you free'. It's pretty much what he said which is incredibly disturbing for me given its connotations in history.
