I'm an old tech plus ham. Been out of the hobby for 2 decades, sold everything radio over 15 years ago. Just kept my license renewed. Now the radio bug is biting again. I'm studying for my general now (that's a tough thing to do after 20 or so years. lol)

Anyway, I bought a new Yaesu FT-991A specifically for the built in automatic antenna tuner. I've been researching ways to construct a multiband dipole. This looks like it'll do the trick! Thanks for this video! I'm subscribing to your channel!

like the way you hung that up. Pretty cool. Wish I didn't have a metal roof then I would try it.
Thanks for sharing our videos love the work.

newbee here. Wanting to do this. I see you have 8 wires per side for 40, 30, 20, 10 6 m. What are the other 3 wires doing? You have other bands?

New Ham - Want this antenna. Can you share a picture of the center connection piece, so I can do the same? And hate to ask - but would you have a suggested parts list (what kind of cable you used). Thank you!!

I was up there secretly yesterday. I live on the top floor of a 3 storey 12 appartment block with an access trap to the attic. Gave up when I realized a sloped roof between the 2 adjoined building kept me from crawling any further. The dipole is 65 feet long total. I could use a long piece of wood at each end to push it all the way down there and keep it from curling back. I lost my glasses up there and a pair of pliers so I may just give it another try tomorrow, For now I ve slung both ends on top of the roof from my balcony but I can't get a straight line or see how it s laid out.

Tried an inverted V from my balcony, too low. I may try using the big tree up in front for a higher inverted v tonight.

I'm new at all of this, just got a mint condition Yaesu FT-One, I'm unlicenced and receiving only. It's still a whole lot of fun.

so that is basically one piece of wire strung back and forth? i would have liked to have seen the feedpoint.

I need a longer house! My 40 meter dipole bends at the ends to fit the width of house and it looks like a zener diode :/

New sub and new ham here. I am wanting to build a fan dipole in an inverted v. I have a 55’ tower outside of my shack, and am curious what about the spacers you used. I understand the 1/2” PVC, but how did you secure the wire. You mentioned nylon connectors or something? I like the look of your attic antenna and would like to try one in the attic also. I have about 60’ of attic, can the ends on 80 bend? Might have to try it. I am loving the learning and the science of this amateur radio hobby. 73 de KI5HXM Brent from Texas

I like your setup & i am gonna copy your design. Question for you. I want to run 4 half wave dipoles resonant to 10, 12, 17, 20 meters, with a remote switch unit at the station, can i get away with using the pvc separating each line that close with out interference? Of course only one antenna will be used at a time depending on what freq i am using at that time. If this works out with 4 i may add 4 more to my remote switch then all my freq will be resonant to the band. No heat, no arching this way. Thanks.

I put five dipoles in my attic, 20m to 10m. I spaced them out so they won't interfere with each other making tuning awkward.
I took a photo to e-mail a friend to show him and all these orbs appeared in the photo.
Does anyone remember that stupid t.v. programme Most Haunted? They were always going on about orbs, trying to make out they were mysterious and spooky.
It's dust! Out of focus in the camera and illuminated by the light.

Always haters out there!

Lookin good! Possibly any plans for this antenna that you can think of? It would be neat to set one in my attic as well I do believe. Thanks for showing!
