I remember watching Salma Hayek in “From Dusk till Dawn”. I was at a friends place, there was a group of six boisterous guys (we were all in our early twenties), one minute we were quietly chatting and then Danny Trejo is on the screen announcing Salma’s characters entrance…… Everyone stopped talking and was completely transfixed on the screen! Unbelievable.

I love how passionate she is about her Co stars skills. Then when Conan tries to throw him under the bus, she tries to stop it. But then when it doesn’t stop, she starts a funny story about herself to deflect away from the topic, and it worked. Also she began her funny story by saying ‘yanno he’s very funny’ and the story wasn’t even about him being funny, it was about her being funny. But she just wanted to make her Co star look good. Everybody's obsessed with her change in accent like she's running some kind of conspiracy. It's simple. Back then she was spending much more time in Hollywood and the US. But she has since spent decades living abroad in Europe and speaking mostly Spanish or French. She no longer has a need to keep up with English and naturally the accent gets thicker.
