Hi I'm having the same problem as Nubian31, my Mom got me a bunch of these from an art store close out and I just tried them, I was so excited but after putting in a few colors the paint was already dry and when I went to mix it and shape it with a toothpick it all came up off the water onto the tip of the toothpick. How cold does the water have to be, my was cool but not cold from the refrigerator. I also used bottled water b/c we have hard water with lots of Chloramine in it, so I used the bottled Crystal Gyser we had here. None of the bottles were sealed when I opened them for the first time and at least one looked a bit used, but still full. Could they be too old? Is there anyway to thin them back out, or just keep the from drying so fast, I really want to paint on the water with these! Please help!! Thank you so much!

Love the look of this product and just ordered all 22 colors. Wondering though, just how permanent it is on non-porous surfaces. I'm planning to use for mixed media jewelry and am concerned it could scratch off with wear. Thoughts?
