Samsung Galaxy S21+ One Month Later (Problems & Best Features after 30 Days of Daily Use)

Now that it's been a month, let's get away from the spec sheets and talk about what it's actually like to use this phone. I found some good and bad things from my month of use!

If you have an iPhone, check this out. ESR sent me one to try out (lots of people send me lots of junk, but I figured I would try it anyway) and I love it. All phones need to adopt this technology

WHAT GEAR DO I USE?
(Polar H10 is known to be one of the most accurate in the industry and therefore acts as a great standard to which I compare smartwatch heart rate sensors)

ADDITIONAL REVIEW NOTES:
FP sensor is definitely WAYYY better
Finally perfected after 3 years
Camera mic surprisingly better despite being on the top/bottom
Battery life is good. I am getting a very solid 1.5 days out of this phone. Easily makes it through long days too
S20 regular is substantially shorter
Reverse wireless charging while charging your phone is no problem at all - no overheating or anything
Lack of SD card slot doesn’t bother me much. I liked it for camera stuff before but every camera is wireless now anyway
MUCH better fingerprint protection vs S20
Still slippery though, but fewer fingerprints get on the device
I think the screen looks great with adaptive 120Hz and Samsung’s signature color and brightness
I am happy to see less stuff on the camera bump
Lack of depth camera is honestly fine.
Software compensates for live focus mode
I know very few people who used 3D scanner
WAY easier to place a screen protector on this flat screen
The UWB will probably be nice to have for Galaxy Tag+ (since S21 reg doesn’t)

CONS
No MST Pay
Some people have experienced overheating issues
Sometimes you can notice that it is adaptive 120Hz but it is hard to do, especially if you’re not looking for it
I REALLY wish this had MagSafe
I wish there was a black and gold version, but I guess a skin works
Keep losing GPS signal

Overall very incremental improvements (with some downgrades)

The good thing about a phone with incremental improvements is no issues

Btw, there are 2 different s21 phones: one with Snapdragon chipset and one with Exynos chipset. If you got your s21 in China or North America, you get the Snapdragon version, for other regions you get the Exynos version, which is the one that gets hotter.

That is the most accurate and honest opinion I've seen on YouTube yet. Also, for the snow, I recommend turning the AI mode off. That makes a significant difference. I don't have that issue on the Exynos version though, but on the SD variant, I think the AI struggles with snow as a background in sunlight.

Mike I got the s21+ a month ago from my wife for my birthday. I love this phone even though it no longer has the SD card. I had s8+ before this one. It's just a great phone. It's the blue-collar of smartphones.

Hey Mike, very good in depth review. I've been using the plus for 3wks. It's definitely a great performer the triple8 with the 120hz is blazing. Speed wise and clarity of the display is excellent. Even at 1080p, do I miss the 1440p, nah, much prefer the 🔋power? So for me what's the best feature, the trade-in deals? Got mine for 384.00 buck-a-roos. Dumped my weak 🔋pixel4, no regrets!

The mst pay taking off completely takes me of wanting to upgrade.

I always loved going places and started to pay with my phone and them telling me they didn't have a nfc reader or people with iphones that it never worked.

Then I would reach over and lay my phone on the car reader and smile!

Plus no micro SD card?

They are taking all the things away I loved with Samsung.
