This is how wish kpop reporters/journalists talked about skz. As a die heart STAY, it makes me proud to see them grow bigger and bigger each year, and I can't wait to see what more they got this year. Thank you for this video, and for showing what great of a group skz are.

I loved the way you framed how they are carrying on the legacy of the generations before them! It's so annoying when western media diminishes them to "are they the next BTS?" because no, they aren't trying to be the next anything, they are the first Stray Kids.

I did miss that one of the only JYP groups you didn't mention in here was 2PM, who have inspired multiple Stray Kids members and are big supporters of them, and helped JYP secure influence in Japan before TWICE was created. They were also formed on a survival show! Totally get you can't talk about everything in a video lol, just wanted to mention them so people in the comments don't forget how essential they were to keeping the lights on at JYP before the 3rd gen took off.

I remember when Stray Kids debuted. GOT7 was poorly marketed and managed, many believing due to the contract split (the group earned more than the company), along with DAY6 sitting well-known but still lukewarm in growth as a band. And so it seemed that after G.O.D and Rain, that JYPE would struggle with boy groups. It felt like even JYP put lots of parameters on the boys at first- his advice to Bang Chan was that he couldn't rap as well as Han and Changbin so he just shouldn't. He thought that while Felix was one of the most popular members on the predebut survival show, his lacking Korean would hinder the group. Staff told Hyunjin he doesn't have to try and shouldn't push himself too hard because he's handsome anyways.

As such it felt like during Stray Kids first 2-3 years, their company looked at them through the lense of what they SHOULD be as a kpop act. And not at what they had the potential to become. Meanwhile, Bang Chan had a vision for the group. He picked the members because he cherished them, and because he could see which piece they were in the puzzle of a group. He saw their potential, their individual skill sets, and knew how to bring each members unique skills forward and make them shine.

And the boys didn't blow up at debut either. They were well anticipated since they were debuting after GOT7 under the big3, but it wasn't like TXT or New Jeans. They debuted more quietly and it took them almost a year to get their first music show win. Hell, their arguably most popular track, God's Menu, never even got a win. They continued to slowly build themselves up, develop a steady and strong fan base. It really feels like Stray Kids never had anything handed to them on a silver platter by their company or by the industry. It feels like they went out there, blood sweat & tears, and worked HARD to establish themselves in the industry. To prove they were worthy of recognition. And I think that's what resonates with a lot of kpop fans and STAYs: these boys EARNED their position as leaders in 4th gen kpop. You can see their passion and creativity radiating off of them, their love for the job in everything they do. And you see it in other groups too, but there's something about the authenticity of Stray Kids that just grabs your attention and doesn't let it go.

**End note: Amazing video. Well put together, and great use of article headings and talking about the history of JYPE and kpop as a whole. I'm an Aussie, and while that doesn't give me more weight or anything as a STAY, I want you to know that SKZ is probably the most popular kpop group here because of Channie and Felix and that we appreciate and are touched by content like this that is so well made in promoting the boys and in celebrating the success of the boys. Props to you and wishing you luck in your future videos!

A part of why I was drawn to stray kids is their personality. A month ago, I barely listened to KPOP but I stumbled across BC and F interview with Eric Nam and they captivated me so much that within a week, I listened to their music, watched their lives/shows and bought tickets for their show which was in two days.

I barely knew how to sing some of their songs because I just started listening to them and it was my first KPop concert. However, their show was so great that they have quickly climbed my charts and be one of my top artists. Although I keep in mind the parasocial rs I have with them, their friendship is so warm, genuine and smtg you just want to be a part of that I just had to see them live. I hope for all the best in their future!

I love how informative this is. Not only touching the history, but also explaining technical terms. I am a Wing's era ARMY and an Oddinary era STAY. As an ARMY-STAY, I am so proud of what my artists had, have, and will achieve.
I am especially excited to see Stray Kids lead and dominate because of their artistry, their multi-talent, and their innate goodness. Yes, they are the protectors of a legacy that broke through barriers. As of the of this time, adding to their growing lists of achievement is debuting at #7 on the IFPI Global Artist Chart.👏👏
I am all here for THE RISE OF STRAY KIDS.

For me personally, their music is so widely stimmy, with relatable, emotional, and/or badass lyrics……and they cover so many genres that I don’t get bored when I put them in shuffle and I love seeing the different sides/flavors of them. The fact that they’re self produced makes everything that much more impressive, personals, admirable, and enjoyable

Then the members themselves—they’re so goofy, endearing, kind, funny, chaotic, it’s so hard not to adore them. As a group they have so much chaotic chemistry and I love watching them in variety shows and concert clips. I’ve been to one of their concerts and it was PHENOMENAL. They’re such incredible performers and they have so much energy and charisma and fun on stage!

Stray Kids are doing so much for not only the kpop industry, but the global music industry. Their incredibly unique sound is going to be influencing music for decades to come. They have really taken inspiration from everyone before them and everyone around them and proven that art is not dead in an industry that does churn out a lot of cookie cutter songs.
I was DEVASTATED last year when the Seattle tickets for the Maniac tour sold out in minutes and didn't get any. Then they added a SECOND Seattle date and I got to see them. They were absolutely incredible to see live, but beyond that, a Korean group packing a stadium in Seattle, WA two nights in a row is a HUGE feat. I'm not surprised that Maxident broke even more records after Maniac and I have a feeling they are only going to explode from here. I love them, their music, and everything they stand for. I wish them nothing but every single success that they wish for.

100 million Korean won is over $75, 000 USD, damn that'a a big donation from Hyunjin and Changbin each. As if I couldn't love SKZ more.

Actually Lee Know was on tour with BTS until July 2nd, 2017, then entered JYP on July 15, then the JYP trainee showcase on Stray Kids survival show was on August 22nd, just a month later he was already a Stray Kids member on the reality show!! Quite impressive how short his trainee days were.

I'm waiting for people to react to this video, it's informative and really cool.
*Lee Know did not train for 1 year, he joined JYP in July 2017, Survival Show started filming about a couple of months later and debuted in March 2018.

They have greater freedom to be creative and have distinct personalities to connect with each other and fans. They have good looks, talent, drive, and work ethic. Universe has been working its magic for Stray Kids since the day Bang Chan was born.
