But the logic fails when the circles become parallel to y=0 i.e. the slope becomes undefined.

Why is the circles denoted so stupidly? This is like the 4th video I've had to abandon to get the answer because everyone writes the circles in weird ways.. Circles have a centre x and y, and a radius... x = number y = number r = number.. Where on earth have these squares come from?
