We remember too. Grandfather Abraham Borczuk fought the Nazis as Sapper in 2nd Polish Corps, constituted from Polish refugees in the Soviet Union (Osh). Two & one half yearr straight combat on the Eastern front without a break. Mustered out in Lublin with white phosphurus burns & malaria.

In 2024 Yom HaShoah begins at sunset on 5 May and continues into 6 May, which is the May Day holiday in the UK. Apparently it will be observed in London but not where I live so I'll simply have the Israeli flag flying here. I've been in Israel for Yom HaShoah and stood with friends as the air raid sirens sounded - it's a very emotional experience.
