Autocar’s annual shootout to find the best driver’s car is back. We've driven 10 cars, on road and on track, over three days to crown a winner.

In this year's lineup we have the: Noble M500, Aston Martin Vantage, Ariel Nomad 2, Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, VW Golf R, McLaren Artura, Analogue SuperSport, Toyota GR Yaris, Lotus Emeya S and the Ford Mustang Dark Horse.

If the Lotus isn't fun, isn't as adjustable as a Porsche equivalent, then it isn't a Lotus. The End. Fortunately, there is another Lotus in the test, which has done rather better. How many times do i have to ask for politics to get sorted and recognise that the 0.7 tonne Lotus that has been rebuilt will create less plant food than the 2.5 tonne Lotus with the massive battery over its useful life. Almost zero remanufacturing CO2 and if driven as you have to drive, the Electre will hardly use any fuel. If you drive the Electre hard, you will be plugging it in amazingly quickly.
