Day in the Life of a Japanese University Student in Tokyo

A day in the life of a Japanese University student living in Tokyo Japan. This is a Japanese College students morning routine, her daily school schedule and what she does after she finishes school in the evening. Ayuka attends Tokyo University of Science, commonly known as RIKADAI in Japanese. It’s one of the most prestigious private institutions in Japan. With seven faculties and 32 departments, it stands as one of the largest private universities specializing in science and engineering in the country. They have 3 campuses and she goes to Kagurazaka campus. In Japan, getting into a university is considered tough, but graduating is relatively easy. Not to say that university students don’t study, but rather entrance exams are so difficult that many spend years in cram schools preparing. The students who fail but desperately want to get into the school, known as Ronin, have no other option but to study and wait for next year’s exams. Among those admitted, about 82% graduate within four years, compared to say the US at around 46%.

It's amazing how affordable and well balanced their cafeteria lunches are. For $3.45 to be the most expensive option is insane

Ayuka is a very strong person. She wakes up at 7AM and goes to sleep at 1:30am. If anyone deserves to be successful, it's her. That's an insane schedule and I hope she can get good rest.

Good on her for starting her routine with some stretching and a quick workout. Even if you can't go to the gym routinely, getting SOME activity in your day tremendously helps your physical and mental health. We love to see people with healthy habits

You should go back to her graduation and do a what college graduation is in Japan. Though, honestly, you can do any day in the life subject and I would still watch.

One thing I love in these videos is seeing all these seemingly inconsequential background details, and how even simple things like the construction tape & signs Paolo passed on his exploration look so lovely to me c’: the entire country feels like a work of art

i'm so glad she's taking it easy with her breaks and naps between classes! every person deserves that time to themselves rather than focusing solely on any one thing in university/joining the work force

No wonder college education is dying in the US. Rent for a dorm or apartment is +$1000 a month, tuition puts you in debt for the rest of your life, and even if you get your degree, any job you apply for will get taken by someone less qualified because they knew the boss or hiring manager.

Recently got Gallbladder Removal Surgery and being bedridden for days, I've finally had the time to catch up and binge all of your videos I had been too busy to watch in recent months, and I gotta say, they've saved my recovery, making it so much more fun and enjoyable! Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication, Paolo! <3

Wow, as a student myself, it’s so interesting to see student life in Japan! Thank you for sharing! It’s amazing to get a glimpse into how education and student culture differ in another country. I’d definitely love to see more videos about student life or university experiences!
