I notice that the mop takes its sweet time rising up when it encounters carpet. So it seems like there is contact with the carpet for a while before it tucks in

Bought a iRobot many years back when it first came out, their camera technology sux rear. Then I bought a first Gen Roborock few months after, never looked back. Now I own 3 roborock including the S7 for different floors. Get the S7 if you want a real robot vacuum, no other products can compete with this bad boy.

The latest Ecovac robot I think T8 or T9 not only allows the dirty contents to be sucked into a disposable bag, but also has a washing mechanism for its mops, which means that you do not have to get your hands dirty at all.

Love my roborock s5 my only complaint it does not like black carpet. The black confuses the cliff sensor but otherwise it does an awesome job.

How is it on medium height climbing?
My s5max is the worst at that... it can’t handle normal thick carpets... (no hairy carpets, normal...). Anything over 2 cm it can’t go over.
We don’t have many but the only be two carpets we have it can not handle which is really bad.
Except for that, it is good. Sometimes it is that smart when cleaning a rectangular shaped room which leads to much longer cleaning time than it has to.

Can you turn off the cliff sensors? I have a rug with black spots and my current vac is a huge failure on this rug.

I just bought the S5 and I think it’s awesome. I won’t need a new model for a few years. Fun to see the evolutionary updates though
