A new Florida law requires all books in a school to be reviewed and later put into a database.

By June 2022, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity found 5, 837 open teaching positions online, up 53% from June of 2021. They voted in a raise which helped new teachers, but experienced teacher's raise did not even equal cost of living--this brings them from the 49th nationally to 48.

If Covey was the one who posted the video of the empty shelves, shame on him, as the other side of the media center is full of books. Those shelves in the video have been empty for years. Our schools have structure, each teacher directed what to teach and what text books to use. Why is it unfair for classroom books to be vetted?

Florida Seniors have voted to show the nation first hand what DeSantis policies will bring. A recent national poll found 80% of Florida senior residents are concerned about their personal risk for homelessness where as most of the other US state's seniors rate is about 20%. With Florida's rep Scott pushing for privitazation of Medicare, Medicaid and SSI which creates more corporate pie for more greedy legislative fingers, what else may we expect from Florida voters?

Everyone acts like if it is a book then it's okay for any child to read it. Okay, if that's the premise, then do you let your children watch anything they want to as well? Every movie? TV show? Every Internet site? Not all books should be read by all children and they should be vetted for age appropriate content. It's baffling to me that wasn't done decades ago and a process already in place.
