Insurance companies will pay out for small claims but when it comes to huge claims. They will do everything in their power to try and make your insurance invalid. Going to lengths of hiring private detectives.

When I worked for hasting insurance in the UK. They told us a story where a man accidently drove into a building in London and cause millions of pounds worth of damage. Luckily every detail was accurate on his policy, his occupation, his annual milage, his parking address. Had any of those details not been covered. The insurance would have wiped their hands clean of him and he would of been in some serious trouble. But lucky for him the insurance took a huge loss because his details were spot in.
