My favourtie 4" props are emax 4028 and gemfan 4032. The 2200kv 2005 amax motor and 6s are a great setup. I got 200kmh top speed with apc 4.1x4.1 props. Others max out at 170kmh. Still more than enough punsh. Also hqprop 90mmx5 are awesome silent and powerful.

some Brotherhobby LA 2005 has 2, 5 or 3 mm shaft and 5 mm shaft for the prop
(it has a screw instead of a C-Clip)

(T-Mount = not many props available)

Hey JB, Neo here again. I'm trying to build a 4 inch that straddles the line of long range with a little punch out. Something that will fly 8-12 or so minutes. 4s

I've been watching a bunch of vids (all of you 4 inch vids) and its seems that 1404 2800kv is more long range, while 1804 3500kv is more freestyle with 5-6 minute flight time. in this vid i heard suggestions above 20xx but im assuming that is for a more freestyle 5-6 minute fights.

Searching for a meduim between 1804 and 1404 has been rough. only one 1604 3100kv (diatone mamba) popped up but its sold out everywhere. sad cause it comes in 3100kv which is a nice spot between the 2800 long range kv and the 3800 freestyle kv.
I'm leaning towards the XNOVA 1804 3100kv

All of my quads have been bind and fly up until now. Building my own has been on my bucket list forever. I'm not really into 5 inch. I love my old Fullspeed Leader 3. but I want something slightly bigger with gps. but I cant resist a good dive so i def cant have something can't really punch.

Any suggestions on this build would be greatly appreciated. a lot of your 4 inch suggestions from your website are sold out.
I was going to us the 57g armattan bobcat 4". m10 gps. probably have 2 20x20 stacks

Just assembled Roma F4 LR with Xings 2205, which I expected a bit as overkill, well... being on ~350gr it flies nice, but a feeling is more like a 5" loaded with full GoPro, rather than a light drone with powerful motors.. shoul I try more agressive props, or try to reduce weight?

sometimes the motor bell 🛎 separates from the shaft after light crashes... :/

I dont know what JB is talking about with 2mm internal shafts. From 2004 size all motors I know are 3mm inner shaft. Hglrc 2004, brotherhobby 2004, emax 2004, rcinpower 2104. Only the 1804 have a 2mm shaft, but are aimed ultralight sub250 anyway. From 2004 size you are 300g and more AUW

4" is great because it is approx the best size for the 249 g limit. 3, 5" are in general much lighter than 249 g. And 5" can only be build in 249 g if it has low power and is fragile...

My frame of the crux35 is broken. Instead to repair it with 2 bottom plates i think i gonna go for a 4 inch frame. It has 1404 3400KV motors... And they are even too powerful on crux35. I'm sure they are alsi good for a 4 inch...

1804 3500kv fro the Rekon4fr.
Or get 1804 3400 Velox with a propshaft that also accepts those f'n T-mount props without the insert
Gemfan durable props and go.

Xnova 1804 suck, dinged a bell on a light run in with a pole.
The Rekon4fr motors are more durable but T-mount... Argh.

Diatone Roma F4 frame. Then FPVcyle 25mm 2150kv motors and Gemfan 4032s. It is ridiculous.
