Weird Nintendo Crossovers

Nintendos a massive company, and because of this, they have have to do a lot of marketing. Other companies need to do this too, and so it makes sense to collaborate in an attempt to promote both brands. However, this doesn’t always work, and sometimes it’s just weird. Whether it be giving Bayonetta a Star Fox costume, making Mario breakdance, or having him drink ungodly amounts of milk, there’s a whole rabbit hole of weird Nintendo collaborations.

One of the most infamous Nintendo collaborations they’ve ever done was with dance dance revolution back on the gamecube. The GameCube is home to quite a few weird games but this one definitely takes the cake. It’s DDR, but everything is Mario themed. It never needed to be, but I guess their thought process was because it’s on a Nintendo system…? They could’ve saved a lot of time and money by just porting a game from the ps2. It does have a pretty cool story though, which is something. Here’s what ChatGPT told me:

Mario and rabbids seems weird. Originally launching in 2017, the game grew quite popular because of its unique play style, being a turn based game but also including some puzzle based parts. It was leaked before it was announced, and people didn’t really like the idea of this crossover, but it turned out to be pretty good. As far as the crossover itself goes, I know we’ve all just come to accept it at this point because they’re good games and quite popular. It doesn’t seem very fitting though. I suppose that’s what makes it so good, having such a contrast between the Rabbids, and Mario and peach and Luigi and donkey Kong and Yoshi and

People have been carving for Nintendo Kart but I don’t think so, it’s better to left Mario kart off as it’s own series considering the causal gameplay. They should double down on the concept and collaborate with smash bros with a more strategic gameplay calling smash bros racing and have a realistic art style and set item boxes instead of the random ones. They are not worried that Mario kart player not liking it and appeal to the smash audience which have more interest to this kind of things rather than causals.
