📍 Bar Patron 🌮 Modern Mexican food in Sydney.
• Classic Guacamole $18 - 2.7/5 ⭐️ nice creamy flavoursome guac but no wow factor. You might not understand how but as my friend said, the corn chips were TOO crunchy.
• Scallop Ceviche $28 - 4.5/5 ⭐️ Fresh creamy scallop sashimi that was so good with burnt pineapple and jalapeños.
• Chicken Tacos $25 - 4.7/5 ⭐️ Niceeee juicy generous serving of chicken that was so tasty. Really enjoyed.
• 500g Tajima Wagyu Rib Eye MB6+ $129 - 4/5 ⭐️ one of the better steaks I’ve had. Quite enjoyed this. Meat was tender and not chewy at all, though I felt like the outter was a tad dry. The Epazote chimichurri & aged Molē really added a nice light tangy flavour that compliments the heaviness of beef. Came with tortillas to wrap in but it would’ve been nice if it was rationed by serving as we got 6 wraps between 4 ppl so I had to ask for 2 more, but then they just gave us another 6 and charged us $15 for it?
• Potato Revolcadas $15 - 3/5 ⭐️ nice crispy potatoes with a tiny bit of spice.
• Birthday cake? - 5/5 ⭐️ I think this might be a birthday special cos I couldn’t find it on the menu? It was delicious. Like a thick, sweet creamy flan with a fresh and surprising hint of lime.
Overall: 3.8/5 ⭐️ Excellent food that left me satisfied. Very lacking service. Waiters not very engaged and missed cues for service. Nice views of the harbour bridge and skyline, though your table may not have this. More attentive service would’ve made the experience perfect.
