Let's just repeat that a bit louder for those at the back:
*Using reference pictures is not cheating, **_everyone_** does it!*

Hey Marisha! Not sure if anyone in chat answered the wedding dress question; but the origins of the white wedding dress comes from the Victorian Era in Great Britain. Queen Victoria wore a white wedding dress and the fad soon caught on with the other elites and nobles of the era. Before that, wedding dresses would vary in color and design but mostly incorporated flowers. There is also an old pagan tradition of the bride wearing a red dress, because the color red was representative of the middle aspect of the Goddess; The Mother. The Maiden is white (symbolic of the essence that is pure and innocent), The Mother is red (symbolic of the red that a woman experiences when going through puberty), and The Crone is black (symbolic of experience through life, pushing away negativity, and accepting that the cycle of life is reaching it's end.) The Crone and the color black are part of the reason why people wear black to funerals; to block negativity and bad spirits away from the dearly departed and from the mourning family in their time of loss.

The more you know~★

You guys should put out the Handbooker Helper equivalent of these! Like a quick 3 minute of how to draw Scary Terry. Or how to draw different types of eyes. It would be super helpful

I'm someone who is proud to be self taught and chooses to draw my own way. But I am so extremely happy with these tutorials because I believe THAT ANYONE CAN DRAW! Yes even you. I SEE YOU OVER THERE! So go, go and keep. on. practicing!

Hi, wanted to thank you both for this show. I love Babs Tarr’s art style so it’s really special to get to both watch her art process and to learn from her. I have been trying to stick with drawing since I was a kid but got discouraged by comparing my art to the more experienced and skilled artists around me. Working along with you and the amazing community you have created is helping me keep going. Thank both of you again.

I love these pub draw contents <3 Just one drawing tip for Marisha when drawing a circle use your arm movement not the wrist and this primarly circle its not definitive so dont worry to draw a super perfect circle it wil change a lot after the rough and final details :) :)

12:25 I think Babs referring to George Bridgeman here, who happen to have taught Loomis, and has books detailing his process still in print. If you all need a good art reference book, I'd recommend Bridgeman's Life Drawing. There's also a set with 3 other books. They're cheap too, like under $10

12:08 "Garbage circles" can actually be a better starting place for heads because our heads are actually pretty angular and not terribly round. Circles just make it easier to have consistent shapes. ;)

since she mentions that it's a good idea to look up other tutorials and teachers, if you look up the Loomis method on youtube the first result as of now is an art teaching channel who goes very into detail into this and many more things and i'd recommend going to him if you want expanded teachings on things that they don't have time to go over on this show. I learned with the Loomis method so i'm happy to see it on this show!

Marisha is actually an amazing artist. I thought she said she was a complete beginner but her drawing of Percy was spectacular. There's no way I would have thought it was by a beginner if I saw that online.

I’m used to draw on paper, iPad and the white surface of my desk, still I’d love one of those Wacom.

Anyone else think it's adorable that Marisha said she has too many feelings about their fantasy characters in regards to this Percy, when this Percy actually looks quite a bit like Matt?

I wonder when we’ll get the episode on Dragonborn. I would love to be able to draw one of those at some point
