I love the vinegar trick. Haven't purchased fabric softener in years! Your clothes do not smell of vinegar, in my opinion, it enhances the freshness and smell of the detergent.

Why replace the stainless steel cleaner with baby oil.? You're still buying a product

Don't put fabric softener in your washing machine as it will gunk up and can actually ruin it over time. I use it only for hand washing.

I tried babyoil and olive oil (some recommend olive oil) and can tell that its nasty. It looks good, but everything sticks to it, creates build up and is hard to clean. Don't do it.

You can use newspaper instead of cloths for windows or mirrors, a trick my grandma taught me. Also if you have chrome finish or silver hardware like in a kitchen or bathroom, take a towel and lemon juice and scrub and it removes hard water and shines up like new again!

I like these alternatives. Your skin is an organ and you absorb those harsh cleaning chemicals, you also breathe in the spray as well.

I only use (cooled, previously boiled) water, cleaning vinegar and baking soda. Once in a while some lemon.

In my experience a cloth doesn't always get rid of dust, it just moves it around or swipes it off the object onto the floor.

Dusting spray can be used to shine stainless steel.

I'd use baby oil on my fridge, but sadly, I have hairy pets .😢😅❤ Their fur sticks at the bottom on the fridge and bottom of the stove.

Seriously, I clean like 95% of my house with just Dawn dish soap and microfiber cloths. Haven't used fabric softener in my washer or dryer sheets in my dryer for years and my clothes never come out gunky due to buildup. My machines are much better for it too, and don't smell

I use dr bronners castle soap for most of my surface cleanings. Works well and cheap. The bottle last a long time.

What a beath of fresh air literally!
I thought it was just me that can't understand the trend with (mainly young) women to use as many smelly chemicals to clean there homes!
My husband has dodgy sinuses and swears he can taste anything highly scented. I get wheezy around them too. Plus we have a dog so for him I would never use anything too harse/highly scented. (DOG OWNERS NOTE: YOU'RE PROBABLY HARMING YOUR PET WITH ALL YOUR SCENTED PLUG-INs/SCE YRD MAX MELTS ETC. DONT DO IT - OPEN A WINDOW FOR GAWD SAKE!).
As a result our house probably smells* to others! But it's clean and 'disinfected'.... just not at the expense of our health
*we wash his bedding weekly...makes the world of difference. A small bit of Non Bio washing gel and double rinse, before you ask!)

I CANT use microfiber, it is a textural issue for me. So that dust spray thingy is a must.
