'CSGO' Shield Trick Techniques & Locations | Overwatch Advanced Orisa Guide

This Advanced Orisa Guide will go over the "CSGO" Shield Technique which is a move popularized by EvilToaster and consists of shooting your shield in a specific way to maximize its uptime and ultimately having more shields at your disposal in a shorter period of time.

Fun fact:
This technique is called "CSGO" because in Counter-Strike Global Offensive, players would often memorize locations where they would be able to throw smoke grenades from a further location and still have it land at an exact spot (usually a choke-point). The same technique is done, except with Orisa Shields.

I've been doing this for months before I even saw this video. This video does offer lots of awesome places to fire the shield that I didn't even think about or know so this is a good help for me :D The ones I do use work great also, but a little extra knowing is always a good thing. Thanks!

I actually use this in defense but I just shoot it completely upward and effectively have 3 shields. So shield is already down, shoot shield up where it would fall down at the same place as current shield. Then when that shield comes down the third shield will only have like 1, 2 seconds of cooldown left and you effectively have 3 shields down.

At around the mark of 1:48, when you are talking over the text about the pros of using this technique, it feel a bit to slow to me. It would be nice if you could add some gameplay in the back ground of this technique being used. It doesn't have to be comp, qp would work just fine, but it would be nice to have a live demostration (using the russian map would be preferable though, as you already showed that spot). You can still keep the text in the foreground (and the rein, I admit it made me chuckle), but the whole thing would add fluidity to that entire segment.

From a technical standpoint I'm not sure how much time it would consume to add something like this (although from my really short experience quitting editing, probably a lot)but I feel like it would also go a long way.


Thats really, it was a short segment of about 40 secs, so it's not really a big deal anyway, but I figure my opinion might be usefull (which is rarely the case :V), and regardless of any of that, I really find your vid extremely educative, specially for a player with little hours as myself. I'm definitely subbing, keep it up dude :D

Another advantage besides shield uptime / cooldown is that you don't have to expose yourself to the enemy to throw most of these shields. If you were to set up these shield normally while walking up to the choke you can already take damage while doing so. (Although probably not enough damage to really matter in most cases)

As an Orisa main, these spots can really help. The main problem would be memorizing all of them (+ more) and using them quickly enough so u don’t waist too much time.

hey Kappachino! just wanted to let you know on Illios the well location you can actually throw your shield running towards the point from spawn :) I need to figure out a "scientific" way to explain it like you did but it's very effective
