I was born in seoul 1984, grew up in US. When I go back to Korea, it’s almost unrecognizable since the Cold War era. Koreans were hungry for the Gospel, desperate to get close to God, seeking for help from faith…. There are still plenty of Christians still today (it’s the largest religion in South Korea) but cults have been rising, churches are closing and young generation is increasingly identifying as non religious (kpop singer is the number one most popular goal). Korea has been another victim of worldly success, the Korean people are so obsessed with being liked by the world always promoting their music, products, culture. It’s bittersweet to see how many Koreans back then would gather just to hear a preacher. Pray for a revival for the children and grandchildren of the people you see here.
