Back when I was in graduate school getting my master's in library science, my professors would tell us that the NYT was a "newspaper of record". Today, the only thing you should use NYT is as a very expensive litter box liner or bird cage liner.

Polls in my opinion have haven't been accurate since the demise of the land line. Phones today block random calls so those few that are polled are more actively politically involved and want to be polled resulting in a skewed outcome.
