The dragon parts do the same thing when fused to any weapon. It seems the magic rods only enhance the elemental gemstones.

Something I've noticed about the Gleeok Horns: not only are they the highest fuse attack on any elemental material, _but_ they also don't "run out" of their respective element (Topaz will require a short while to recharge after a certain amount of use, whilst a Thunder Gleeok Horn will not) _and_ they don't use up the weapon's durability like other elemental fuse materials.

I think it's a disgrace that Diamond, Amber, and Luminous Stone don't do anything unique above all the other flops. They could have referenced magic canes from earlier Zelda games by having Diamond make a sparkling orbital barrier, Amber make a temporary block of amber, and Luminous Stone shooting a laser.

I had the luck to make an Opal Rod before starting on the Zora portion of the game, and found it invaluable for clearing out huge swathes of muck with zero effort. It broke during the boss fight in the Water Temple, and I never bothered to make another since there seemed no other real use for it.

Pretty annoyed that Amber and Diamond do nothing, but Star Fragment is actually worse in my eyes because it LOOKS like it does something, but it absolutely does not do any damage whatsoever. It's just a really expensive torch.

I like wearing the lynel mask too, it looks good with the soldier gear. Did you know he makes a grunting noise when he runs while wearing it? I kept hearing it, and was like "what the hell is that sound" thinking it was a piece of equipment.

Every material without the 'rod' property behaves the same on a magic weapon as any other weapon.
The only materials with the 'rod' property are: ruby, sapphire, topaz, opal, star fragment, and bee hive (courser bee honey).
Materials with this property are enhanced when fused to a magic weapon, but still have a weaker version of the same effect when fused to any other weapon.

Try fusing a gleeok horn to an eightfold blade it gives it a cool elemental effect to the wind slash

Any star fragment fuses can light up areas for a moment in the dephs. Very easy navigation tool

Starfrags, Opals, Topazes, Rubys, and Sapphires are the only ones that do anything special when affixed to a Magic rod/scepter/staff. Everything else acts as normal. Dragon dorsal spine shards are much better used as elemental hammer heads on wood sticks. Naydra hammers are my favorite.

It’s kinda annoying that star fragments and opals are the only real new elemental Rod, especially since there’s no wind rod and even more so because ambers supposedly have the element of earth

Star fragments shoot stars and deal no dmh to any enemy or even light up the depths except the path they shoot in. But honestly they have to have some purpose we dont know about. Like a real potential use.

Star fragments Light up dark areas like moving torches. Luminous stones also light up dark areas like a torch. Neither are as good as bright bloom seeds.

Luminous & Igneous Stone Talus Hearts attached to weapons also light up areas like a torch too
