The first U.S.-China summit under the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden wrapped up in Alaska Friday. While the event kicked off with a confrontational exchange, former U.S. national security advisor John Bolton says 'people should not conclude from this that it was somehow a bad meeting.' This guy seems to miss the point that meng was detained for basically helping a Chinese company making business with an Iranian company. Can someone tell me in which world makes sense? Like I totally get the point of Canadians might be detained as retaliation, but someone decided they were entitled to decide with whom, people of another country could do business with. How can that even be accepted?

Shouldn't you forewarn your Canadian audience that you are taking the foremost psychotic unemployed neocon seriously here? The meeting was a train wreck that eliminated US hegemony. Today

Actually, I think many in the world who are non-Chinese felt vindicated that the Chinese dared to tell US what they did not dare to.

As a Canadian I wish Canada can keep away from getting involved in this pissing competition of these two superpowers. We should have just mind our own business and focus on our own problems.

I'd be pissed too... if I had to fly to Alaska to listen to a bunch of people ranting for 2 days straight

it was the Americans who acted impolitely, and on the very first meeting, in its own living room, too.

massive fail for Blinken and Sullivan.

the Chinese diplomats were seasoned, wise, worthy emissaries of its nation, culture and civilization, much like in days of the Emperor's envoys..

Blinken and Sulllivan are no match

Why is Bolton allowed as a guest on Canadian airwaves? This is journalistic malpractice. Shameful.

Good heavens CBC is sinking lower and lower if all you can get is Bolton as a guest

Both Meng wan zhou and 2 Canadians are scapegoats. Americans have no guts arrest her in US soil, otherwise two American scapegoats instead.

If Canada is relying on America to get the 2 Michaels back, they need to think again.

US stated Might is right and winner takes all is wrong. Pleased to hear this statement. US should not use its Might to bully other countries.
