The moment that got some of the most traction from this years 2023 NHL Draft, was Carey Price announcing the 5th pick of the draft for the Montreal Canadiens

I felt terrible for both price and for Reinbacher here, who’s big moment got fumbled a bit but regardless, he still got drafted which is huge and was obviously excited about going to an original 6 team with so much history.

Well, if the announcement was rough, things only got worse. See at the 5th pick, with arguably the 2nd best player of the draft still available in Michkov, many Canadiens fans had hoped the Russian forward would be who Montreal picked up and so despite Reinbacher simply living his dream, having no choice in who picked him, he got a boat load of hate online even having to turn his comments off on Instagram as he got flooded with thousands of nasty comments for something completely out of his control.

Well, things got better after a couple of quality humans prevailed.

Twitter user sazukipizza or Patricia Néron, had the incredible idea to put together a book of comments, positive comments as a gift to Reinbacher to show him the true love and positivity from Canadiens fans that had maybe been overshadowed by the loud minority of negatives and this is just so wholesome.

Then today, Just 3 days later, this story gets even better as this morning news broke that the Canadiens had signed David to a 3 year entry level contract as I’m sure many expected. Clearly the young defensemen showed them enough good in early impressions to land a deal.

I’m happy to see that his experience has seemingly taken a much more positive turn and he’s done it, he’s living out his dream so thats awesome. I cover it all in todays NHL hockey video!

As a habs fan, j grew up watching hockey and soccer/football and i find a lot of similitudes between the fanbase of the Real Madrid and the Montreal Canadiens. Bigger the fanbase and the history in a specific sport, bigger the passion, bigger the emotions. It can be glorious and it can be the worst

The one good thing about the messed up announcement is it makes it all the more memorable. Also fuck the asshole fans hating on a prospect. The KHL contract and Russian political climate makes michkov a bit of a risky pick. Also, you never know which players will live up to, exceed, or fall short of expectations
