Is America Ready For A Coronavirus Pandemic?

COVID-19, or coronavirus, has now spread to dozens of countries around the world, but is the U.S. prepared for an outbreak? Despite having months to prepare, the United States doesn’t have enough testing kits, and public health spending has been cut over the last few years.

But in a country with 27 million people without health insurance, uninsured Americans might not go to the doctor if they can’t afford it. That can make the virus spread faster, and the CDC is already warning that there may be some major disruptions to daily life.

On the economic side, imports from China might go down as large parts of that country are still locked down. And if the disease turns into a major outbreak in the United States, how will that impact the 2020 election?

Free soap and towels are plentiful in every AMERICAN Public restroom and yet women wash their hands with a 3 second finger tip dip in the water, maybe a squirt of soap, grab a towel and out the door.They are doing a compulsory facade of washing their hands just to appear correct. It’s so disgusting. I’ve been watching this for decades. I can only imagine that men’s restroom scene is worse.

We're also struggling in Germany, and we have public health care. But there is only so many resources available :/ Hospitals and small rural providers in outbreak centres are running at capacity, and they're running out of respiratory mascs and disinfectant. Private consumers have been emptying the shelves and it's also affecting their professional supply.
