Cool watch! But I agree with the previous comments. They should have used a 9000 series Miyota if possible, even if they had to charge $50-100 more (based on my cursory review, the difference in retail price compared to the 8000 series is currently around $50). Potentially, the case could also have been slightly thinner as a result.

The Seiko think the Earth watch was done before this, is so much nicer, easier to understand, and comes with a choice of north/south hemisphere.

With Quartz (less height and there is not second hand anyway), it would be a buy for me.

I keep seeing comments on videos about Ciga Design and it being Chinese. I encourage everyone not to dismiss Ciga for that reason. It isn't fair to assume this is made in a sweatshop or blame hold them accountable for questionable gov't. The founder of Ciga is a talented designer and doing their own thing and is winning lots of accolades in the watch world.

Interesting. But if the planet was shown with an Arctic polar view then you could see the time in any time zone.

Love that they chose the Indian ocean on the dial. Has just the right balance of the blues and lands. Also Indian subcontinent’s geography being sooo diverse really makes it look great. They did put a lotta thought into that selection ig.

So the compass rose doesn’t move but the rings do. Indicating that it’s showing the time to be just shy of 7:43?

Do they offer a Western Hemisphere version?

Why do people still use the Miyota 8 series when the 9th series is around the corner? What are the benefits of using the 8th series?

Usually I don't put much stock in complaining about movements being bad value, but the 8 series is a direct downgrade. Otherwise, it is a cute watch.

I just don’t like the place of the globe they chose. If they choose northern Atlantic or Northern Pacific instead of the Indian Ocean I would have bought one.
