It's so sad to watch a clip of rational people proposing pragmatic ideas and then realize that 85% of the country thinks they're either socialists or extremists.

The usa could literally feed clothe and house their entire nation with plenty to spare if they would just please, PLEASE, leave the rest of the world alone. As one of the dozens of nations affected by this usa "aid" mill, the starving of PNG would thank you to stop helping them first. Also, they want their resources back, and access to their own ports, and their people stuck in usa military prisons to be released. And threats to block tourists from entering to end. And the deeds to their property back. And access to their own oceans back. And their democratically elected government to be reinstated. Once you start with them, then you can continue on with the rest of the nations you are "helping" and you will truly never know hunger (american style) again. Thank you.

The health insurance industry should be nationalized. The efficiencies gained by having a national pool could drop health-insurance costs to a fraction of what people pay today. More money in people's pockets is a good thing for the economy. Maybe we should just start calling stuff like privatized health insurance costs a "hidden tax", so Republicans will be against it.
