Some of the best things to see in Fredericksburg Va are things pertaining to the vast amount of history there. Fredericksburg is a revolutionary war town. George Washington was raised there as a boy and you can visit the farm where he was raised just across the river from Old Town Fredericksburg. Later in life he also bought a house for his mother there. James Monroe our 5th president also spent time in Fredericksburg. There are also 4 major civil war battle fields around Fredericksburg which make for some amazing tours. There is the battle of Fredericksburg or Maryes Heights battlefield, Spotsylvania Battlefield, Wilderness Battlefield, and Chancellorsville Battlefield. I spend many enjoyable days at these different battlefields exploring the vast amount of history and learning things about these battles that can only be discovered by actually visiting there. So if you get the chance, Fredericksburg is a facinating place to visit and one of the most charming little cities in Virginia.
