⚡⚡ Question of the Day! : Have you tried the Gunnar Glasses or other gaming glasses? Any other glasses you would like me to review?

I have had such a hard time trying to find computer/gaming glasses that have around +0.25 magnification. You have literally answered that in the 3 minutes...as compared to my 2-3 hours of looking at different glasses and their specs. Thanks a ton!

Got a pair of these for Christmas last year and as an avid gamer and computer science student i love them! I've noticed a massive reduction in frequency and severity of headaches. Anyone that uses a computer or related tech product on a regular basis i suggest getting a pair.

just got mine today, 3 hours on and noticed more than just blue blocking. Everything seems to be a bit more clear

I'm shocked these are that complicated! I always thought they were on the verge of gimmick. I'm sure gunner knows everything you mentioned considering they built the glasses, but I've never seen them explain them as well as you did here. The should hire you for consulting work!

My nephew introduced me to Gunnars several years ago... I borrowed and liked his so bought myself a pair. Later I purchases another with my prescription. I didn't realize how much blue light they blocked until this year when I got new regular glasses. I'm having all the pain you mentioned early in the video, dry eyes, and so I am considering purchasing another pair of Gunnars with my new prescription. When I asked my eye doctor, he had never heard of Gunnars,

I've been using Gunnar glasses now for 6+ years and love them. I wear them nearly all day long as I'm on the computer all day for work and then game at night. It's gotten to the point that if I don't wear them and watch TV or do something on the computer, my eyes start to hurt and sometimes get a headache.

So it's a prism+filter. That's quite interesting. I've been using prism glasses for years, for reading, gaming, etc., without any filters. It really helps a lot with eye strain. But it has a drawback: you need to sit close to your monitors. If you lean back for more than a meter, they distort the view and become useless.

I have a prescription glasses with anti-glare and blue light blocking coating and its better for when I'm gaming on my TV, but I like my Gunnar gaming/computer glasses better when I work, it's just been a whole lot better on my eye strain.

I've been wearing prescription Gunnar glasses for over a decade. I'm a software dev, not a gamer, but they've been amazing, I wouldn't think of wearing anything else.

Another thing I do towards the end of the day is put on an audio only media, a podcast, spotify or audiobook. I put down my phone and have it hooked up to a speaker. That way I'm not looking at a screen but I still get a form of entertainment. (Or I just read lol.)

Hi Doc!

Can you make a video about thin vs thick lenses? I’m nearsighted & my prescription is on the stronger side. I don’t care about my glasses being thick and sticking out of the frame. However, I don’t like how my head/eyes look(s) significantly smaller behind my glasses. I wanted to know if that was just a downside of my strong prescription, or if paying for thinner lenses would solve this problem.

Have you seen the victory series glasses? They are a little more expensive and I'm wondering what the difference is.

I have an odd question, but a fairly applicable one :)

You have a great mix of skills here, your professional skills and knowledge, but also a clear knowledge of filming, production quality, lighting, and you play videogames.

Do you have recommendations, glasses wise or gear wise, for folks who record and stream with facecam and/or face reading detection for avitar rigs?

I mainly ask becuase some of the lighting set ups for this sort of thing can turn a pair of glasses into a little disco-ball of glare. And also because streamers usually broadcast for quite a long time while dealing with the screen's blue light and the bright light of their set up.

I used to have them. Remember found the magnification annoying. Your really need to consciously "super relax" your eyes, which just gave me more headache.

It's also annoying that you can't just look outside a window or anywhere, without having to take them off. So note taking is a nono. Therefore I bought some regular blue-light glasses, without magnification.

But, I am now considering buying these again. For coding, and also for reduced stress during night, before I go to bed. When your eyes are shutting down, it's best to have some magnification, because otherwise the tension in your eyes could keep you awake longer. 👍🏻
