During World War II, the German Luftwaffe used the V-1 Flying Bomb , also known as the buzz bomb and doodlebug, to terrorize England and Belgium. The first V-1 fell on London in June 1944 and more than 30,000 were manufactured by Germany between 1944 and 1945. Learn more!
The V-1 on display at the Air Zoo is on loan from the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, and was skillfully restored by the Air Zoo's restoration team.
