Is Josh Giddey the PG of the future? Type ‘Y’ for Yes or ‘N’ for No

You have to take into account that Giddey only played 25 min a game last season compared to over 31 min a game the previous 2 years before that, that’s the reason his stats went down. OKC were also playing him in positions last year of ball that he’s never played before

As a Thunder fan I can ensure you that you will not be disappointed with Giddey. His FT% % 3pt are improving. He knocked out the Pelicans in the play-in with a 30pt Triple Double in 2023 & then knocked out the Pelicans in 24' 1st rd G4 4th qtr w/ back to back 3pt'ers. He's up there w/ LeBron in triple doubles by age 21.

Yes giddey is the PG
Josh is thought of so highly by many Australians and is absolutely loved by his Aussie teammates
I hate when people say his stats went down last yr.. of course they did as he’s mins went down. The OKC gained so many new fans from Australia who will now probably follow him to the bulls
If I was the bulls I would get aussies jock landale and/or Dyson daniels to the bulls a
With him and Josh plays so well together with them especially jock.
Also it pisses me off that so many bulls supporters didn’t want him as they said he was a predator.. the guy was found to be innocent and basically falsely accused

I can tell you that before he even got chosen for Australia they would have investigated the claims as wouldn’t want to leave it to the US and they obviously had no problem with what they
found out otherwise he wouldn’t be at Olympics. Also people in Australia are basically saying if an American was falsely accused he wouldn’t be treated like giddey has been

His size as a point guard makes it easier for him to attack the rim and help out with rebounding which leads to pace. Even 15 points, 8 to 10 assists and 6 to 8 rebounds a game shooting 45 - 35 - 85 would be such a great contribution for us

I think the Giddey/Caruso trade was a win-win for both teams for where they are right now. OKC are looking to contend and needed an off-ball guard that could comfortably fit with Shai and bring big value right now, and Giddey just isn't that kind of player and doesn't look like becoming that kind of player. Getting Caruso makes a lot of sense for them since they are in win-now mode. Conversely, the Bulls are rebuilding, so they can afford to invest in a longer term prospect who is a ball handler that can facilitate for his teammates and get them open looks. The fit works for both teams, especially in light of the questions around Lonzo Ball's future availability.

Long term is Josh Giddey a championship winning point guard? I'd have to say no, or at least not right now. He needs to become an at least average 3pt shooter and all round better shooter to reach that level (and improve his D as well). But he's only 21, which means he's still younger than a lot of this season's rookies, so there is still a lot of room for him to grow as a player and shooting is a very teachable skill. For the Bulls being where they are right now, it's a good move to take on Giddey where is he right now (still a useful player) and see what he can turn into. It might be that long term his role is as a backup guard off the bench, but time will tell. Regardless, he's nowhere near as bad a player as r/nba would have you believe.

Watch Giddey in the olympics. He has so muxh more potential than people realise. The guy is 21. Most draftees are 21, 22 when they get drafted. This kid has some much time to grow.

It's crazy how well we do considering how few people play basketball in Australia

I have to agree with you. Having Giddey with Zach and Coby in the back court will be a good back court.

Gidy. Too much crap with statistics all the time. Just watch basketball and enjoy the game. There are too many situations during a game that cannot be measured. Sick of all the same stats being trotted out about players. The only stat that matters is Winning.

People forget he comes from a winning team so he knows how to win basketball games and that’s what we need someone who knows how to win period

See what happens to Caruso over at Okc this season and then you'll realise why Giddey had to go and why Okc did not get the better deal. No one grows as they should under the shadow of SGA.

Once Giddey gets better at outside shooting he’s going to be a taller version of Steve Nash.

GIDDEY - before Chet and Jalen, the offense was much more dependent on Josh. After the addition of these two future all-stars, Giddey's role changed in a way that did not play to his strengths. If he had come off the bench, leading the second unit, it would have been a good fit. He will be a good addition to any team who puts the ball in his hands.
